Juno
Juno beach was 8 kilometres of land dedicated to Canadian deployments. The troops sailed from the city of Portsmouth and landed near the city of Caen, in between the two British objectives, Sword and Gold. Over 14 000 Canadians participated in the attack, and managed to capture the beachhead with minimal casualties; only 340 Canadians had been killed.
